At Rainbow
Woodworking, we are aware that our
products are built with a valuable natural
resource--trees. We also realize that
certain types of wood are more scarce and
valuable than others. For this reason, we
never use "Old Growth" wood or wood
cut from the tropical rainforests. We
believe that the trees from which this
type of wood is cut are far more valuable
to the Earth than they would be in any
piece of furniture we could build.
We
acknowledge that rare rainforest woods
sometimes have special characteristics,
such as unique color, texture, or density,
which make them particularly desirable.
When working on a piece that requires a
wood with one of these special
characteristics, we do our best to
reproduce the effect using colored stains
or more plentiful types of wood.
We are
proud of the furniture we build, and proud
of our Earth-friendly policy. When you
work with wood for as long as we have, you
come to thoroughly appreciate trees and
the forests that they comprise. We just
wouldn't feel right having our name on any
piece of work made of one of the last
pieces of a particular species. We trust
that you'll understand.
